From December, Hokkaido is blanketed in snow creating a pristine and beautiful environment. The Furano valley, located in the geographical centre of Hokkaido, is blessed with some of the driest and lightest powder snow in the world.
Enjoy a day in the mountains and come home to your warm and cosy forest cabin.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Blessed with average snowfalls of over 9m per year and some of the longest runs in Hokkaido, Furano, has something to offer skiers & snowboarders of all abilities. Beginners will find wide and gentle slopes whilst more experienced riders will find some of the steepest pistes in Hokkaido.
Backcountry, Ski Touring & Split Boarding
The Furano valley has world class backcountry in abundance, including the Daisetsuzan national park, which has some of the best backcountry and touring in Hokkaido. Located just 45 minutes from Yukari Cabins, this range of volcanoes has something to offer every level of backcountry skier and snowboarder. The possibilities are endless!
Tour among smoking, volcanic fumeroles, ride beautiful forests or steep alpine lines in untracked, dry powder snow from December until April.
Whatever your level, we highly recommend hiring a guide.
Snowshoeing
Stroll around the forests outside your cabin or adventure further afield. There is endless exploring to be done.
Cross Country Skiing
Located just 1km away is Asahigaoka Park which has a 2km & 5km trail.
Onsen
What better way to soothe tired muscles after a days skiing or snowboarding than a soak in an onsen. There are even wild (i.e. free) onsens to be found up in the Tokachi-range just a 45 minute drive from Furano. The following facilities are available within a short drive of Yukari Cabins.
